Things I’m Loving Lately

Things I’m loving lately…

Iced coffee. Because naturally after telling you all that I haven’t drank coffee in a month, I’ve now had it everyday since that post. My excuse is that it’s been brutally hot and, well coffee is life.

My new kicks. I was in desperate need, my Nike Free’s were thinning on the soles. Confession: I haven’t ran in these yet, and I got them last week. Oops? They’re just too pretty.

Beer. I’m a complete wine-o, we all know that. But now that Florida is actually getting some microbrew/craft beer distribution from up North, we can actually drink good beer now. Florida brews are awful, just trust me on that.

SnapChat. I mean, all of my friends hate me right now. I blow them up with obnoxious Snaps. All. Day. Long. No shame, none at all.

Thunderstorms. I didn’t know thunder and lightening until I lived in a tropical climate. Like, you better RUN to your car, and don’t even bother with that umbrella. But I love a good storm.

Top knots. With all the heat, humidity and thunderstorms, there is no use in doing my hair. I could probably count on one hand the number of times I have actually done my hair in the past 3 months.

Ellie Goulding and Lana Del Rey. Mostly Lana. This needs no explanation.

Happy Labor Day :)

Disney Family Vacation!

Weeeeeeeeeee!! Disney was awesome.

We left at around 5pm on Friday, dropped Annie off at the boarding place, and hit up the Turnpike for an easy 3 hour drive North to Orlando.

Our condo that we rented was actually in Kissimmee, but very close to Disney. My mom found it through Vacation Rentals By Owner (VRBO.com) and for an awesome price. I definitely suggest looking into that website for your vacations if you don’t want to stay in a hotel!

Anyway, when we got there we just hung out and ate pizza since we were planning on waking up early for the parks the next morning.

Saturday morning we all piled into the car and headed to Animal Kingdom!

Animal Kingdom was so much fun! We went on all of rides, including the Yeti rollercoaster. And I hate rollercoasters.

The only way I was going to get on that ride was with some liquid courage, so I drank a beer while we waited in line.

That’s us in the front 4 rows. It went backwards half of the time, RIDICULOUS!

We got scoffed at by some random parents for drinking beer but you know what? Not my fault Disney serves alcohol. It was Saturday, and after lunch… it’s not like it was a Tuesday.

On Sunday we decided to do more fun rides instead of the typical Disney character parks, so we went over to Universal instead and went to the Adventure Island park. This turned out to be the best freaking idea ever. Why?…

HARRY POTTER!! I was in heaven. The castle ride was seriously amazing and the dueling monster rollercoaster was so loopy and whippy it gave me heartburn.

We spent the morning in the Harry Potter section and then after lunch we made our way over to the Marvel’s area to hit up the biggest ride in the park: The Hulk.

I can’t even believe I went on that. Before this trip, I refused to go on anything remotely resembling a rollercoaster, but apparently I’m not so scared of them anymore. Still this one was pretty intense, do you see in the top right corner of this picture how it twists immediately out of the start? I die.

After that, we drenched ourselves on the Jurassic Park water rides and then made our way back to the condo for an early Thanksgiving feast! I failed to take any pictures though, I was too hungry for that. We devoured our food, said our goodbyes and were on our way back home.

It was so good to see my family, and it was such a fun weekend. The last time I saw them was in the end of July! But I’ll see them again in about a month when we head north to Michigan for Christmas and New Years.

What’s your favorite Disney park? How do you feel about rollercoasters?

Caramel Apple Spiced Ale

I have a few things to talk about, none of which relate to each other so… here goes

1) Workout today was a quick and sweaty one! I didn’t love it, but it did the trick. I started off with a 15 minute run on the treadmill, followed by this circuit

2) I finally gave in and bought a food processor. I have been talking myself out of buying one for the longest time…. “oh but your blender can do it all!” (it totally can’t)…. but I decided to just suck it up and shell out the cash for one. I impulsively bought one at Bed Bath & Beyond but am now second guessing my purchase based on some reviews I read online… I do this kind of thing all the time…

3) Also made a pit stop at Total Wine to pick up a new beer! Blue Moon Caramel Apple Spiced Ale.

They only had it in a Fall Sampler pack with their regular brew and Pumpkin Ale… I mean, I’m not complaining… But seriously if you have a Total Wine in your state, PLEASE please please do yourself a favor make it a point to stop by. I love just looking at all the different kinds of wine and craft beers, I could seriously get lost in there. And not to mention they have in-store wine tastings every weekend from noon til 5pm.

And so my plans for tonight involve my man Andrew, my pup Annie, a crisp Caramel Apple beer, the Michigan vs Notre Dame game, and my super comfy, marshmellow-y lazy boy couch.

How bad could that be? (Barefoot Contessa anyone?)

Do you like craft beers? If so, what’s your favorite?
